Switching modes to

Sol Multisystem (Version 2) is currently in the final stages of beta testing. Take a look at the readme for this baby.

Work on the SFCOP TNG+ Universe At War mod is temporarily halted while I prepare the BC release. So many mods, not enough time, or money, lol. You could
to help, if you like. I am teetering on the prospect of not having an ISP.

Part 7 of SFCOP: The Universe At War is an on going process. Here's some things posted in the Races of Honor Forum.

This posted by Merlin:
(make sure to see the last paragraph in green)

OK, I've been out on GameSpy and I've got a healthy buglist(Just what we want, and better now than later)

The Defiant class and variants. I just played a 600 BPV round with Neo and Spock vs Me and Spider-USS. Neo took the DEF2, I was in a Borg ship and Spider was in a Rom.

Spock had seen what that ship was capable of and decided this was a good time to contomplate his decorating scheme..

Meanwhile, Neo(Def2) mopped the floor with us.

I'm not joking, he gave me 60 internals on the first pass. 1/2 my weapons were gone. The ship is not bad--it just needs to have a ~500-600+ BPV adjustment.

Also, the Raven-III's are still too powerful. A full set of squadrons(16 fighters) can destroy ships at range 50 without much effort. This is the top fix request of the players I've met. It's really still too powerful.

Also, the Infinite PPD bug still exists in force. I've seen it in action myself and it's quite annoying Smile.

Generally speaking, the Federation are simply overpowered across the board, they have the best shielding, the best power curve, the best weapons loadout, etc. The other races have a VERY hard time winning against them, we need to start giving the feds some disadvantages.

Also, the Andro's are rather pointless in their current(I.E. released as of TNGPart7Beta3) state. They have far too little power, they've been nicknamed Nerf Frisbee's. Granted, I've done a lot to fix that, it just deserves mentioning so that people know the problem is known and has been addressed.

Overall, however, the players really like the mod, they like what has been done with it, they truly believe it will be the best mod SFC has seen.

If you wish to..

towards the completion of this mod it is greatly appreciated. The scope of the this mod stretches way beyond myself or any one fleet. Each time I log onto Gamespy Arcade I see different people playing the mod and having a blast, with members of many different fleets playing against each other.

On another note, for a bit of TNG Nostalgia regarding this and other mods, see this!
Mod Forum dated 2002

The radio station here continues to broadcast 24-7 Star Trek Audio in Stereo. This station costs a little bit to maintain each month. If you'd like to

It would help a great deal. More than you know, actually.

Part 7 of the TNG Mod for Orion Pirates is progressing along nicely. We plan a Dynaverse 2 server for the mod! I've not done much with Bridge Commander recently to concentrate on getting the OP TNG mod finalized. A new friend, RT Justice, has updated the Borg specs. RH-Merlinfmct87 is doing specs for the Andromedans! We are changing the race breakdown to include all of the following:

Federation
Klingon
Romulan
Borg
Dominion
Breen
Cardassian
ISC
Ferengi
Aliens
Andromedan
Lyran
Hydran
Gorn
Mirak

Borg Encounter anyone?

The TNG Mod for Orion Pirates, currently a 6 part mod, is being re-worked and re-released. There'll be a Part 7, and a single file release. This is happening because of a recent resurrection of the mod by this fine group of gamers. It is a pleasure to be associated with them.

Dark Gunman's Improvement Pack

Sat. Jan. 10, 2004

Recently my BC partner Jeff Watts, Jr. and I have been working on adding AI ships to the Multiplayer experience. Our efforts have drawn the attention of the team responsible for the Multiplayer Mod pack currently on BC Files. Look here for some screenshots of Jeff, Quantum99, and myself in a 3 way battle in Calufrax (a Banzai Zap system); in Multiplayer - combined with the MPMP.
IMAGE HEAVY!!

Sun. Dec. 28, 2003

Here we go folks. Due to recent efforts by Jeff Watts, Jr. and myself, we plan to support the Multiplayer community with the BC2 project. I have been informed that some were worried it would be single player only. Not so. Take a look on BC Files at our Stock 1.1 Multiplayer Maps. The scenarios presented in each individual system in BC2 will be available - most of them in their original form - for BC2 Multiplayer.

I have run some experiments with the Multiplayer Mod Pack combined with our systems and all looks extremely good at this point. In MP, I flew my old friend LB's Charleston class into the Wolf359 battle area, where 1 ship still had some life left. I fired on it, it stopped spinning wildly and proceeded to fire torpedoes at me, no phasers, and it couldn't get above 49 kph. We have functional AIs in MP now.

Another system in our release has ships defending a station and defending and chasing each other - all with AIs, all in Multiplayer.

Yet another system in our release has 7 different races attacking each other and any player who joing the game, on a random basis. That is impressive enough with stock ships. Add in the MPMP enhancements, DGIP, and NanoFx and you won't want to do anything else for a week at least.

Needless to say we are quite proud of what is happening in multiplayer right now - :-D :and urge you to try this combination of files...

How about this cool ship? It'll be in the TNG OP update.
SFC3 is not forgotten; I've been watching a lot of big mods for the game take shape.
I have recently been enjoying 'Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory from Splash Damage, and have been using the 2nd server on this page. My brother runs the server.

BC
- anyone who likes Bridge Commander has heard of Banzai Zap. He's been making system packs for a long time now. Here's his latest. I am, with Banzai's permission, adding ships and objects to his systems. See here, or in the next column's 'Today's Pics'.

It was suggested that someone make a system for the Voyager episode 'Message in a Bottle'. I did, I made one - actually two. See here.

Starfleet Command
You may know that SFC 3's official patch is being worked on. Also SFC: OP is getting another patch.

Wed., June 11, 2003

For the moment anyway I have stopped modding SFC. I've taken to making systems for Bridge Commander. Look here! This is a challenge for me. I can do SFC in my sleep and wanted to accept some new challenges. I'm working with Nightsoft on something called 'Bridge Commander 2'.

Bridge Commander -
Well I made a new system map for BC and a total of 7 missions for the QBR (QuickBattleReplacement)
Information and download here.

SFC3 -
There's some new files and news on SFC3 Files.

Thursday May 15, 2003

Bridge Commander - I have released another mission for Banbury's QBR:
Get it here.
There will be more of these QBR missions/scenarios. I'm putting together some variants of the current 2, like maybe 10 more, and releasing them all at once when they are ready. These are just plain fun.

For the moment I'm sticking to stock models, to accomodate the people who don't want slide shows due to high poly models eating up ram.

I am conjuring up a large fleet battle with all possible stock ships involved somehow.

SFC3 - I've been experimenting with some realistic backgrounds in SFC3. See this Taldren Forum thread. Also a old ship gets converted here.

Saturday May 3, 2003

The May 2003 update of the TNG Mega Mod for SFC3 is online here! Check the Projects, SFC3, Mega mod link here.

Also.. The SFC2 Multi-Era Mod has been updated. (That's a mega-mod too isn't it?) Check the Projects, SFC2, Multi link for that!

On the Bridge Commnder front - I recently created a fun mission using the QBR (QuickBattleReplacemnent) script. See it and download it here!

BUSY WEEK, LOL.

Monday, April 28, 2003

The 2nd Spring update of the SFC3 TNG Mega Mod is nearing completion. I am still waiting on a few things. Real soon my friend..

This looks to be my last solo mod for any SFC game. Future endeavors will have me as part of a team. Speaking of team things,
I am now part of team producing a big mod for Bridge Commander. See this on the Bridge Commander Universe Forum

Friday, April 17, 2003

The rainbow shield color in the SFC3 TNG Mega-Mod was an experiment and will be changed in the upcoming update, unless people like the colors on the shield hits.

elsewhere,

I have added some new ships and the Interstellar Machine Terrain.

This terrain has hardpoints, 2 up in the sky to simulate a ship in orbit firing down on you. It will come with no weapons so you can refit it as you wish.

Deep Space Nine will be playable, but will also need to be re-fitted to play.

A lot of the BS files, the ship pics in the right hand corner of the ship select screens, have been redone and look a lot better.

New scripts for the Mega-Mod server coming from Pelican. His Dominion Wars Mod has really taken off. I am pleased to see he used some of the same ideas I used; i.e. batch files for activation, installmaker for the mod install, etc..

The 2nd Spring update for the TNG Mega Mod update soon.

Monday, March 31, 2003

The old Eric Mistal landscapes for EAW and OP are back up for download!

Rocky Wasteland
Marsorbit
Deep Sea
Saturn's Rings

Click on the SFC3 Logo on the right side of this page..

Single File version to follow.

Saturday March 8, 2003

While I fix the downloads up on this site, you can get every download (except the SFC3 TNG Mega-Mod) from The Star Trek Mod Directory. I support the Venras in thier efforts to be the place to get Star Trek Mods.

(A lot of the downloads are offline until such time as I can fix the links.
I am referring to the SFC1, EAW, and OP Mods.)

3/16/03 is the 2 year anniversary of my radio station on Live 365 (linked to your left). I'll be doing another live show that Sunday night (3/16). I would like to have the final edition of the TNG Mega-Mod done by then; a little self promotion, lol. That is my goal. Plus my daughter's birthday is that weekend.

I played on the D3 with normal 1.01 specs and had some fun there. I can get on no problem, although the log on process is a bit long, no doubt my router causes that. It checks the router IP before it checks the outside IP.

Orion Pirates is getting a patch soon. One thing there is they are increasing the maximum number of ships per hull type from 64 to 128. Based on that and the desire to upgrade some models, I'll be updating the TNG Mod for OP.

If and when I get to it, I'll be wanting to update the EAW Multi-Era Mod as well.

Busy 2003? Yes. But it's all SFC with the fun factor being 10 out of 10.

Monday, 24th Feb. 2003

PART FIVE!

WELCOME TO THE TNG MOD FOR OP LATE SUMMER UPDATE.. 8/29/02

This will not be just a models/spec update as the previous updates were.

THERE ARE SIX MISSIONS INCLUDED HERE, SCRIPTED BY CENTAURI VAUGHN for This Mod!!!

AND BOY ARE THEY FUN! (The missions will be copied into assets\scripts when you install this update.)

1. Yesterday's Enterprise - Federation Mission that follows that episode's events almost to the letter!
2. Tomorrow's Enterprise - YE from the other end of the temporal rift (Romulan Mission)
3. Into Dominion - Federation Mission that has the Feds in an uneasy alliance with Romulans - features the USS Defiant.
4. Dark Horizon - This one is special. You can play this from any race's interface. The mission has several objectives
that are stated as you start the mission. You are a Borg Cube - random Fed, Klingon, or Romulan enemies.
This requires installation of new audio (included in the download)

above are single player..

There are two multiplayer missions as well! tested and approved!

1. Dominion Wars - the Dominion vs. a random opponent Team A is random opponent - B is Dominion
2. Random Borg Assault. This comes with a customizer, much like Co-op Ace, so you can select the number and
type of Borg ships to go up against, and the level of the AI. This mission here makes the mod really shine,
what with the new audio, The TNG audio already there, and the current enhanced graphics.. WOW!!

The Borg Assault Customizer (Called Borg Assault 2) install will be in your game's main directory upon download of this update.
It's an MSI file that you will need to run -- You will get a shortcut to the Customizer- called the Sector Wolf 359 Borg Assimilator,
in your Start menu programs upon installation of the Customizer.

These missions put a whole new spin on the TNG Mod for OP.

There will be a new batch file copied into your main directory just for these missions; it will say TNG2002.
The missions use some new models put together by Centauri Vaughn and some of the models I already have in the mod.

There is new audio that will get copied to a directory called SFCVoice when you install the update.
Using the audio install instructions below on this page, put those sounds into the sfcvoice.zip file.

The regular mod (now using the TNGFull batch file) gets a model update as well and here's what's included..

THIS AUDIO IS REQUIRED, OR SOME OF THE SOUNDS/VOICES WILL NOT WORK.

AUDIO

IMPORTANT:
Make a backup of the sounds.txt file that is in your assets\sound directory, although one is included in the specs download. Just to be safe. Also make backups of the SFCSounds and SFCVoice ZIP files. Just in case.

You need to have WINZIP installed on your computer to do this next part.

1. Download and run this file OPAUDIO402.exe.
Extract the files to C: It should create two directories called sounds and voices.

2. Open Winzip, and open the archive, C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\Assets\Sound\SFCSounds.zip
3. Once you see a lot of wav files in Winzip, click on Add.

4. A dialogue box appears, browse to the directory c:\sounds and make sure it says *.* in the file name area. Also -- In the Action box, make sure it says, ‘Add (and replace) files.

5. MAKE SURE THE COMPRESSION RATIO IS SET TO "NONE". IF you don't do this, the sounds won't work, and if you didn't make a backup of the sfcsounds.zip - NO SOUND..

FOLLOW THE EXACT SAME PROCEDURE FOR THE VOICES, only browse to the directory c:\voices, and open the archive C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\Assets\Sound\SFCVoice.zip

6. Click "Ok", WinZip adds to and updates the archive.

7. Run the TNG batch file - all set!

Thanks to TNG-B-SFETAZ and REIGN1701A for the original sounds.

I modified a few of the sounds myself.

These sounds will be included with the TNG mod release. I wanted to give you a preview..

Pay close attention to the above instructions!

HERE'S SOME FUN!

THERE IS NOW A MULTIPLAYER RANDOM CUSTOMIZER FOR THIS MOD!!

I have taken the Defiant into the Badlands to engage several Maquis Raiders.

I have been to the Veridian System in a Venture Class Galaxy re-fit with an Akira and a Nova as escorts..

We met up with a fleet of Jem Hadar, Cardassians, and Breen.

A Glorious Battle.

Centauri Vaughn is the scripter here.. I gave him a list of what races were replaced and with what for the OP Mod.. and he went to town..

CV says this:
Keep in mind that this will work with any shiplist but it is strictly intended for Chris Jones TNG Package for OP.

I have played about 9 games using different settings.
This is a lot of fun!
There is so much packed into CJ's TNG OP MOD that you never know what to expect next.
I'm sure this gets better with more team players.
It is such a pleasure to script missions for CJ's mod.
I can't wait to see what he is going to bring us for SFC3.

Good luck and good hunting all.

Centauri Vaughn
